Wax can ,eave bad bruising if you do itat home. Shaving as you say leaves a mess. Best option I have found is to buy a hair removal cream. leaves the skin undamaged, and is easy to use

its important to shave with the grain to avoid ingrown hairs. To shave close, first shave with, then against, then with so that its smoothe and close. Try shaving oil, it works when I shave my face, and stops those nasty friction burns! If the damage is already done, I'd leave shaving for a while, let it grow a bit, then it'll have time to heal properly. I wouldnt advise waxing, but then again, Im a bloke!

Waxing is the only way to go. lasts longer and no ugly bumps

I find that aloe vera gel (alcohol-free, if possible) helps a lot for shaving bumps, especially if I put it on after I shave.

I tried sugaring myself just last night:

-1 cup sugar

-Half a lemon for the juice

-1/4 cup honey

-Cornstarch

-Something to spread the mixture with like a tongue depressor, popsicle stick, cheese spreader or spatula.

-Cotton fabric

1. Mix the sugar, lemon juice and honey in a container (preferrably a glass one that you were going to get rid of) and microwave for 2-3 minutes.

2. WAIT for the mixture to cool down. Burning sugar in the pubic region is not very pleasant.

3. When it has cooled, spread some on your bikini area and press a strip of cotton over at.

4. Now slowly pull off, starting from the bottom.

I did this, and it hurt very, very, very badly, so I decided that shaving bumps were better than the pain, and shaved the rest off.

I hope I helped!

exfoliate and shave

exfoliate! do it about a day or so before you wax/shave, and again a day after. It means that the dead skin wont block the hair follicles.

Usually i'll get waxed. Because realistically, I can't wax myself! The suspense is way too much! Plus waxing leaves you smooth and bump free....but not until after the first couple of times.

If I don't have the time to get it professionally done, I use a removal cream...it takes longer, but the results are just as good. ( It just smells a little )

Exfoliate regularly. You can also get mini hair-clipper-style trimmers specifically for bikini lines, and although you won't get it quite so smooth as a wet shave would, it's still a close shave and you don't get bumps.

To get rid of the bumps go to Walgreens and go to the mens shaving section and usually on the bottom shelf there is this cream and sometimes a liquid called bump stopper- IT WORKS!

To wax go to sallys beauty supply get GiGi at home bees wax heat it in the microwave - you get the muslin strips there too. Cheap and lasts forever!

At Wal-Mart they sell a product call Bikini Zone. It usually helps with the bumps. They also have razors for shaving the bikini area they help protect your skin from getting ingrown hairs and I閳ユ獫e found they are much safer than regular razors. I think the brand name of them is Noxzema. As far as waxing at home: what ever you decide to buy should be tested on your leg first. I hurts a lot and it takes a lot of strength to pull a strip of hair from the bikini area. Sometimes with waxing you get more ingrown hairs. Creams are okay but they take a long time. I always hate sitting and waiting for them. I think shaving is the quickest and least painful way to go. I was going to say it閳ユ獨 hard to be a girl. But I started to think of men with hairy backs (yuck) I feel really sorry for them. Yippy we閳ユ獧e girls!

I wax, not shave and have very little problems with bumps now. I use surgi wax. You can also try some of the bikini cream for razor burn. You buy it by the shaving cream.

Shouldn't be any ingroing hairs if you shave regularily - wet shave once a day - only waxing leaves ingrowing hairs - also, shaving leaves you smoother...
