Could be a lot of things, herpes or genital warts or a number of other things. Maybe it is an ingrown hair but I wasn't aware that they last for more than a month. He needs to go to the doctor.

Well dont jump to conclusions yet. He may be right it could just be ingrown hairs. First thing to do is have him wash with Dial or an antibacterial soap for about 3 days and he also needs to pluck the hairs in the sore and around it. If it doesnt go away by then, he should go see a doctor.

if they are sore to even a gentle touch and are red and kinda swollen then they are probably ingrown hairs. but you also have to look at the location of the bumps because hairs don't grow on the shaft and head of the penis. however if they are rough to the touch and not really red or swollen it might be HPV presenting as a case of genital warts. make him go to the docotor just to be safe. webmd.com can give you more information.

Are the bumps in an area where he has hair? Other than that, if he does have herpes, it doesn't mean he cheated on you. Sometimes it can take years for herpes to manifest in active lesions. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and get his butt in to see the doctor. Make sure he gets tested specifically for herpes as well as other STDs...for some reason, herpes testing is not usually included in STD screening.

An ingrown hair could be very possible, I have had them. But he really should get checked out. It could be dozens of things not related to an STD. Just ask him to get it checked out to make sure and do not jump to conclusions to quickly.

It could be ingrown hairs or a heat rash or after a month it could be a last ditch effort on his part to get you to at least look at it.
